RAISING Dion first premiered on Netflix in October 2019, after two seasons the show has been canceled.

Why was Raising Dion canceled?

On April 26, 2022, reported that Raising Dion had been canceled by Netflix.

Sammi Haney who stars in the series as Esperanza initially broke the news via her Instagram.

"Sad to say that Raising Dion is CANCELED [sic] Thank you for all of the amazing support we got from all of our wonderful fans!

"Season 2 was a success, equal to Season 1, even if just looking at how many people watched all of it and wanted a season 3!"

Season one of the show contained nine episodes while season two was just one episode shorter.

The series is a part of the Representation Mattes collection on Netflix.

Season two of Raising Dion premiered in February 2022, over a year after its season one launch.

Raising Dion sees a widowed mother care for her son amid his emerging superpowers that she must try to conceal.

Is Raising Dion based on a true story?

The Netflix series is not based on real-life events, but rather a comic book series of the same name.

Dennis Liu is the author of the original comic book series.

The comic book is currently listed on his for $3.99.

"Nicole raises her 8 year old son, Dion, who has superpowers. Life was hard enough keeping up with the bills, let alone trying to keep track of her son’s invisibility, plasma powers, and telekinesis," the book's description reads.

Who is in the cast of Raising Dion?

Raising Dion is filled with young new coming actors including Ja'Siah Young who plays Dion.

Young is reportedly 11 years old and was born in 2011.

Alisha Wainwright also stars in the series as Nicole Reese.

Sammi Haney plays the character Esperanza in the series.

Other cast members include Jason Ritter and Rome Flynn.
