Love Island boss wants to bring back ex Islanders for epic All Stars series

LOVE Island bosses are lining up an explosive all-stars version - where the show's big names return to the villa.

It raises the prospect of favourites such as Molly-Mae Hague, Maura Higgins, Ovie Soko and Dani Dyer donning the swimwear once more.

Love Island executive producer Mike Spencer said he would "love" to bring back the big names from the show's history.

Speaking during a Q&A with fans on Reddit today Mike raised the prospect of an all-stars series to excited fans.

He said: "I would personally love to make an ‘All stars’ in the future with past Islanders across all series. What do you think?"

However, he added that the ultimate go-ahead would be down to ITV saying it "would be a question for the channel".

However, an all-stars edition would echo a move by another ITV show, I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here, which plans to unite some of the biggest names in its history.

Reacting to the prospect of Love Island doing the same, one fan replied: "That would be my DREAM!!! Please make it happen!!"

Another wrote: "As long as you bring [back] our queen Maura it'd be amazing!"

An 'all-stars' version of Love Island would bring the long-running series back to its celebrity-based roots.

It began life as a show where ITV put 12 single stars on an island in Fiji for five weeks.

It was won first by Jayne Middlemiss and Fran Cosgrave in 2005 then Calum Best and Bianca Gascoigne in 2006.

However, the show - brought in to challenge Channel 4's then-juggernaut Big Brother - was scrapped.

It was revived in 2015 with ordinary members of the public, going on to be the ratings success we know today.

ITV confirmed this week that Love Island's official start date this year was Monday 6 June.
