Jeopardy! fans shocked as Mayim Bialik-hosted game faces HUGE mishap that hasn’t happened in ‘months’

JEOPARDY! fans were shocked as the Mayim Bialik-hosted game faced a HUGE mishap.
Internet users spotted something that hasn't happened in "months."
Mayim, 46, is currently hosting Jeopardy! for the sixth week in a row, returning after alum Ken Jennings' prior three weeks and surprise announcement that he'd be out for the foreseeable future.
The hosting slot is still on the board and will likely be decided by the end of Season 38 in July 2022.
The permanent podium pick has been a huge point of dispute, as the late, great Alex Trebek had hosted since 1984.
However, Mayim has now hit a huge and less disputable blunder.

For the first time in "nine straight weeks," per , Jeopardy! fell below Family Feud in ratings.
Dropping a huge 8% for the session that began with Memorial Day and ended June 5 - the show scored a 4.8 Neilson rating.
Family Feud took over the top spot with a 4.9 in syndicated gameshow rankings.
The last week of Ken's hosting before his hiatus, exiting the day after Canadian tutor Mattea Roach ended her epic 23-game tear losing by $1 - ratings were at a 6.2.

Jeopardy!'s lowest turnout in multiple months didn't score points with Mayim's skeptics.
'PROOF THE PEOPLE WANT KEN'
Fans flooded a Reddit thread fuming over the fall, claiming the numbers were another reason the show should pick Ken.
"This has been a mega season of champions and I'm surprised by this fall in ratings," one fan vented.
Mattea, beloved rideshare driver Ryan Long, Amy Schneider and Matt Amodio - all from this season - will compete in the Tournament of Champions in November, and all rank among the 10 longest runs ever.
Another wrote, "Bring back Ken! It’s what the people want!"
A third claimed, "Seriously, I don’t even dislike Mayim, but the game is so much better when Ken hosts. It’s a completely different vibe, and Jeopardy feels more 'serious' with Ken."
A fourth commented, "I was rooting for her but she's not getting any better."
A fifth knocked Mayim's difficulty multitasking on stage - namely, declaring if responses are correct with an earpiece in, no easy feat.
"Her cadence is so off. It's unsettling to watch. It's like watching a band live when the drummer can't keep a straight beat. I just can't with that so I had to quit watching after years."
Another noted, "In defense of Family Feud, Steve Harvey is a great host for that show. He keeps things light and funny."
"It's proof positive that the right host for a game show matters!"
The ratings low occurred while rideshare driver Ryan was still on his 16-game ride - and ratings dipped 10% the week Ken left.
The new numbers make it even more possible fans may be tuning out because of Mayim.
BATTLE OF BUZZ
Ken and Mayim began filling in for the legendary Alex after his tragic 2020 passing and a fleet of Season 37 celebrity guest hosts, including now-disgraced Mike Richards.
The show's ratings nearly doubled to 9.7M viewers when Ken made his first appearance.
When Mayim took over her hosting duties the headcount dropped to 5.9 million viewers during a college championship and she hasn't bested Ken's ratings since during Season 38.
Mayim was indeed in the front seat for Ryan's empathetic and enjoyable streak - which Ken called a "hell of a run" on Twitter, where he's been dropping hints about his low-key hiatus from hosting - but the ratings showed it didn't matter.
While many fans have found Mayim to be a perfectly palatable presence, she recently made an off-color joke about marijuana and seemed to recently misunderstand the legacy of the band Queen.
All that as fans have overall felt her handle on the game doesn't compare to the alum's, whether a contestant is going on a streak or not.
The fan-preferred former player surprisingly tweeted in May, “I'm handing the keys back to the talented actor-producer-writer-director (!) Mayim Bialik for a few months," adding, “We are lucky to have her! I'll be back before the end of the season.”

Even streak-holder Mattea stated after her go that she wanted the 74-regular-game winner to take over - as a lot of fans are missing Ken too.
"As a contestant, there is something really special about being on stage with the greatest player of all time," she told .
