Michael Owen expected to appear as Love Island’s Meet The Parents segment returns for this series

MICHAEL Owen appears set to enter the Love Island villa for the Meet The Parents episode.
The England legend and TV pundit, 42, will be free to fly out to see daughter Gemma and her partner Luca Bish.
His employer, BT Sport, said the last week in July when the episode is shot is free of footie fixtures so ex-striker Owen will not be needed.
It means he could jet to Mallorca for his first meeting with Gemma, 19, who flew out to begin quarantine for the ITV2 show in mid-May.
A source said: “The end of July looks to be a golden opportunity for Michael to see Gemma.
“He’s notoriously private and anything could change between now and finals week but, all things considered, the odds on him taking part are better than ever.”

It would be a change of heart for dad-of-four Owen, who called eldest daughter Gemma’s joining the show “a father’s worst nightmare”.
Yet show producers believe he will have been influenced by the model’s close relationship with Brighton fishmonger Luca, 23.
Spokesmen for Love Island and Owen declined to comment.
