LOVE Island has been hit with a flurry of complaints following this year’s game of Snog, Marry, Pie.

Over 1,500 viewers contacted Ofcom after the episode, with most of the upset sparked by the boys' misogynistic behaviour towards the girls in the aftermath of the game.

In total, the show has been hit with more than 5,000 Ofcom complaints over just five days.

During the controversial Snog, Marry, Pie episode, Billy Brown set the tone for the shocking behaviour when he completely bypassed Danica Taylor with whom he is partnered up with.

She was left fuming when Billy did not choose to kiss, marry or even pie Danica, trying to excuse his behaviour saying "it would've been boring if I chose her".

Danica was left fuming: "I'm not having this," and later cried to the other girls about how she was having such bad luck in the villa.

Later Billy said: "It's just banter, I'm sick of this s**t."

Things got really heated when Dami Hope chose to kiss his Casa Amor ex Summer to the shock of Indiyah Polack.

He then tried to marry Indiyah but she was having none of it and threw the ring off the hill.

But it was the treatment of Tasha which left viewers feeling really upset and angry.

Tasha was pied three times in total - by Davide Sanclimenti, Dami and Luca - with each giving their reasons for doing so.

Davide told her it was because she called him and Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu the fakest couple.

Dami confessed he pied Tasha because she usually "gets away with a lot of stuff".

And Luca told her: "I could give you a list, but I'll let it go for today. It's just a game."

Fans rushed online to accuse the boys of bullying her, with ex-Islander Amber  Gill writing on Twitter: "Gosh I hope Tasha is OK. These boys are basically bullying her at this point."

While another viewer said: "How the boys treat Tasha is so horrible, I can’t believe this. This is literally bullying and they’re always targeting Tasha and Ekin."

The complaints come just a week after the show was hit with over 3,000 complaints following the Movie Night episode.

Fans felt that Ekin-Su had been unfairly targeted - as did her angry family.

Her account handler raged: “The fact that the s*** shaming is being passed off as banter and good television is very concerning at this rate.”

Laura Whitmore's AfterSun received 427 complaints about the same topic.

At the start of the show, Love Island was hit with hundreds of complaints over Gemma Owen’s age when she kissed Davide, 27.

Many felt she was too young to be in the show and were further outraged when they discovered she was just 16 when she dated ex boyfriend Jacques.
