Susanna Reid teases major hair transformation and new look ahead of Good Morning Britain return

GOOD Morning Britain anchor Susanna Reid teased she was getting her "mop chopped" in an image revamp ahead of her show return.

Back in July, Susanna, 51, revealed it was her last day before her extended summer break.

The long-serving show anchor took the summer off having covered some huge news stories in recent months.

Mum of three Susanna has now taken to her Instagram Stories to suggest she's opting for a fresh style.

She firstly uploaded a shot showing her brunette locks with blonde highlights, before tweaking them with a filter.

She playfully added a purple filter to her hair before finishing off her locks with shimmering sequins.

Realistically, Susanna is likely to go for a much less striking look when she returns to screen in September.

During her last GMB appearance in an eye-catching red dress, Susanna reassured viewers the show was in safe hands with co-stars like Ben Shephard, Charlotte Hawkins, Ranvir Singh and Kate Garraway more than capable of holding the fort.

It comes a month after Richard Madeley, who is Susanna's regular Monday to Wednesday partner, announced he was also leaving the studio for the summer months.

The Marmite broadcaster, 66, regularly divides viewers with his forthright opinions and Alan Partridge-style gaffes.

Today, Richard was replaced as Kate Garraway opened the show with a new co-star.

Kate's summer co-host, Richard Madeley, was switched for ITV's former political correspondent Paul Brand.

Early on during Thursday's Good Morning Britain Kate gushed to her new co-host "thank God you're here!" as he helped her out with the position of an employee from Network Rail.

It came as the pair were talking about the rail strikes leaving just 20 per cent of train services in the UK operating today.

Kate then told him: "Everyone is thoroughly enjoying Paul Brand being here.

"They are saying you're a breath of fresh air and you are brilliant - but I will indulge you with those comments later."

Those at home appeared to agree, with one taking to Twitter to write: "Having Paul Brand on #GMB after 3 days of the Judge Rinder show, is just awesome. More of this please!"

A second put: "I like Paul Brand presenting as he doesn’t make the show about himself. It’s not all about a big personality presenting, it’s about asking the questions that matter #gmb."
