House of the Dragon’s future revealed after just one episode of Game of Thrones spin-off

GAME OF THRONES spin-off show House of the Dragon confirms there will be a second season.

The UK premiere of House of the Dragon aired on Monday on Sky Atlantic and was an instant hit with fans that it has already been renewed for another season.

It is the hotly anticipated prequel to the global phenomenon Game of Thrones - set 200 years before.

Taking to Twitter, fans were wowed by the first episode.

One said: "One episode in all I can say is Matt Smith is absolutely smashing it! This show is amazing."

Another wrote: "My obsession has been reignited. #HouseTargaryen"

A third penned: "Wow #HouseoftheDragon what a phenomenal first episode. It really feels like Game of Thrones is back. The acting, writing, and cinematography were fantastic. Great start to the season. Can’t wait for next week!"

Based on George R.R. Martin’s Fire & Blood, the series tells the story of House Targaryen.

The series is co-created by Martin and Ryan Condal, who serves as co-showrunner with Miguel Sapochnik, who also directs. Martin, Condal, Sapochnik executive produce with Sara Hess, Jocelyn Diaz, Vince Gerardis and Ron Schmidt.

It stars Paddy Considine, Matt Smith, Olivia Cooke, Emma D’Arcy, Steve Toussaint, Eve Best, Sonoya Mizuno, Fabien Frankel, and Rhys Ifans.
