Celeb SAS’s Shannon Courtenay defends not punching Calum Best and says brutal moment was worst experience of her life

CELEBRITY SAS star and professional boxer Shannon Courtenay insisted she's glad she didn't punch Calum Best in a brutal challenge on last night's show.
The 29-year-old former bantamweight champ, who has racked up nine professional wins, made a promise to herself before the show that she wouldn't use her fists in the milling task.
She was true to her word after picking out reality TV veteran Calum, 41.
Despite the DS warning the whole group would be punished if she didn't fight back, Shannon literally took it on the chin without giving any back as Calum reluctantly dished out shots.
Her face may have been marked, but she withstood the barrage and made it back to her co-stars in one piece.
In another tough task she later struggled with a challenge involving CS gas that had the panicked stars spluttering and in tears.

Speaking on Instagram after the show launch, she said: "Hope you all enjoyed the show. It was brutal but amazing to film. I think it's fair to say CS gassing wasn't my finest hour, as for the milling I said from day one if I had to do that task I wasn't going to hit anybody and I stuck to my guns and I'm so glad I did.
"You know this whole SAS show it's a marathon, not a sprint, so you know the first two tasks I didn't do great in but tune in next week to see how I get on."
In an action-packed first show, the stars were well and truly out of their comfort zone.
Towie's Pete Wicks was left in tears after punching actress Jennifer Ellison in the back of the head and knocking her to the ground during their milling match.
But there were no hard feelings and the pair hugged it out afterwards.
