Celebrity MasterChef viewers left ‘feeling sick’ as Melanie Blatt serves up ‘horrific’ dish

THOSE tuning into Celebrity MasterChef were left "feeling sick" after Melanie Blatt served up a plate mainly consisting of peas.

It's been a gripping few weeks but the final of BBC's Celebrity MasterChef is almost here.

Before the grand finale, however, there are just a few more tasks for the cooks to complete. 

One star hoping to impress John Torode and Gregg Wallace enough to bag the top spot is All Saints singer, Melanie Blatt.

Mel's dish on Tuesday evening consisted of a pan-fried loin of lamb, served on a lawn of minted puree and buttered peas with asparagus tips, cheesy dauphinoise potatoes, braised carrots and a Madeira gravy.

Commenting on the course, Gregg admitted: "It doesn't have the spectacular appeal of the other dishes, but Mel, you can really cook."

And it seems those watching at homer were left agreeing with Gregg's first statement, with many left feeling "disturbed" by the amount of peas on the plate.

Alongside an array of angry-faced emojis, one person penned: "What on earth is Mel thinking? I feel sick looking at her plate - far too many peas for my liking!"

Echoing their comments, someone else said: "Those peas are a bit off-putting. What an awful dish!"

While a third joked: "I think Mel's dish needs more peas..."

Celebrity MasterChef 2022 attracted an impressive line-up of 20 soap stars, musicians and actors - but only one will come out the winner.

Last week, the BBC pushed back the Celebrity MasterChef final after it was postponed in a schedule shake-up.

Instead, the broadcaster paid tribute to Queen Elizabeth II - who peacefully passed away at Balmoral aged 96.

The Celebrity MasterChef grand final is set to air on Thursday, 22 September at 8.30pm.
