Tony Adams’ Full Monty strip routine boosted Strictly’s viewing figures to more than 8.3million

ARSENAL legend Tony Adams’s Full Monty strip routine boosted Strictly’s viewing figures to more than 8.3 million last night.
An average of 7.6 million tuned in but the figures peaked when he and Katya Jones performed a samba to You Sexy Thing.
Viewers compared it to Ed Balls’s famed Gangnam Style in 2016 and voted to save Tony, 55, from the dance-off.
Tony, cruelly known in his early Arsenal and England career as “Donkey”, survived despite finishing bottom of the scoreboard.
One Tweeter said: “Katya Jones might have just eclipsed Ed Balls’s Gangnam Style with Tony Adams and The Full Monty.”
Tony appeared in a security guard’s uniform, like the lead characters from the 1997 Brit flick about unemployed Sheffield men who become strippers.
He ripped off his clothes to reveal pink socks held up by suspenders and a pair of glittery red shorts — a homage to the club he played at for over two decades.
The routine had the whole studio audience on their feet.
Judge Anton du Beke said Tony was “a genius” but Craig Revel Horwood gave him two out of ten.
Overall, Tony got 18 — the night’s lowest score.
