Danny Dyer’s new TV project revealed after quitting EastEnders

ULTIMATE geezer Danny Dyer will explore what it is like being a modern-day bloke as he makes a return to documentaries.
The former EastEnders actor, who previously fronted cult series Danny Dyer’s Deadliest Men, will travel up and down the country finding out whether chaps have lost their identity as traditional gender roles are consigned to history.
He will also delve into the topical subject of toxic masculinity, seeing why so many young men are struggling with mental health and relationships with women.
A show insider said: “This will be new ground for Danny and viewers will see a whole new side to him.
“He’ll still possess his usual bravado, but these are serious issues he’s exploring and he conducts himself accordingly. The look into toxic masculinity is particularly deep. It’s a hugely sensitive documentary all round.”
The two-parter, called 21st Century Man, will be screened on Channel 4 later this year.

Danny will also be meeting male and female victims of domestic abuse at an integrated family centre.
‘Feels shame’
Plus he has filmed scenes at a soft-play centre to meet families affected by trauma.
One of the reasons the Cockney actor quit EastEnders after nine years was to try his hand at different types of shows.
And he has done exactly that since filming his final scenes in Albert Square, which aired over Christmas.

He has shot new drama Heat for Channel 5, a game show called Cheat for Netflix, plus Channel 4 reality show Scared Of The Dark.
Danny left the door open for a possible return to EastEnders as his character Mick Carter wasn’t definitively killed off, and instead is currently lost at sea.
But in a recent interview, he admitted he actually wanted the troubled former Queen Vic landlord to kill himself.
Danny explained: “I felt that to go on a journey with Mick, who doesn’t open up properly to anyone and feels shame and all that stuff, to have it end tragically, that would have opened debate and got the nation talking.”
Hopefully his new documentary will do that instead.
Little cake Mix
FORMER Little Mix singer Jesy Nelson makes her debut in the Bake Off tent on Sunday for the Stand Up 4 Cancer special.
And she’s revealed herself as a huge fan of the show, especially when on a diet.
Jesy said: “I love tormenting myself with what I’d pick and choose to eat.
“And this sounds really bad, but I find it really entertaining watching how stressed people get, and how they react when things go really wrong.”

Inbetweeners actor Joe Thomas appears later in the series and admits he didn’t think about copying co-star James Buckley's toilet-themed showstopper, which was on the 2020 celebrity special.
He said: “I’ve stayed in my own lane.”
