On Monday, Eamonn didn't hold back his opinions on Holly and Phil, whose friendship is said to be on the rocks.

Speaking about the pair missing the BAFTA TV Awards, he said: "I think there should have been a special award for Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby for best actors.”

Ahead of Phil and Holly's first appearance together on TV since the news of their crumbling friendship was revealed, Eamonn speculated: “They may or may not be together on the telly today. The public surely will suss that there’s no chemistry, that it’s a broken fit between the two of them and that This Morning does not depend on who presents it.

“It’s an institution, it will carry on no matter who presents it and anyone can check the viewing figures, there’s no difference between whether they present it or anyone else.”

Posing a photo of him at an airport being whisked around on a British Airways assistance buggy, he wrote in the caption: "Need a bit of Additional these days."

One fan wrote: "I am a huge fan of you Eamonn and will continue to be. I just wish you hadn't jumped in on the Phil and Holly witch-hunt. Maybe I don't know it all, but I hate to see you trading insults."

He replied to the comment: " I think I have a lot more insight than u Lorraine," with a tick emoji.

Eamonn was a presenter on This Morning from 2006 to 2021 and has been very vocal about his dislike of Phil.

In February last year, ITV celebrated Phil's 40 years on TV - after started his career as a BBC children's TV host in 1985.

Tensions soared between Phil and Eamonn's wife and fellow presenter Ruth Langsford when Phil cut her off during a segment on Loose Women.

Furious, Ruth launched an offical complaint to ITV over his behaviour, and eight other employees told us that the host was "toxic".

Eamonn shared his thoughts on Phil via a newspaper supplement interview – he said: “Phillip is renowned for snubbing people. He’s very passive-aggressive.

“It’s up to Ruth to say how she felt, but I was feeling hurt for her. No one would have snubbed me like that.”

Holly and Phil's relationship is said to have been strained for a long time behind the scenes.

Their on-screen chemistry barely gave any indication that there were problems between the pair, although some eagle-eyed viewers claim to have spotted some tension.

The Sun reported that their relationship fell apart when Phillip failed to tell Holly about his brother's child sex offences.

It is reported that Holly had no idea until Phillip took time off to attend court proceedings.

There were also reports that Holly felt blindsided by Phillip talking to the press about their relationship.

Holly claims that she had no idea that this was happening and found out once the article was published.

All claims had been denied by Phillip who stated that this was "Categorically untrue".

A source said: “Holly had to find out from someone else which must have been awful for her. She has been so loyal to him.

Phillip’s version of events is different and he has praised Holly for “being his rock” after The Sun revealed the TV hosts barely speak off camera.
