Naga, 48, welcomed the Minister for Nuclear and Networks, Andrew Bowie onto the programme.

He appeared on BBC Breakfast to speak about the lowering of the energy price cap.

However, fans of the corporation's flagship morning show took to social media in their droves to comment on her interviewing skills.

Some praised Naga's handling of the conversation, with one writing: "A wee car crash interview on #bbcbreakfast for #robotbowie today.

"His face when Naga pulled him up."

Another commented: "Good to see Andrew Bowie getting a proper grilling by Naga Munchetty on #bbcbreakfast."

"Well done Naga! Asking the questions we want answers for. He was a deer in the headlights! Disastrous for him," penned a third.

Whilst a fourth said: "@AndrewBowie_MP had an absolute nightmare on #bbcbreakfast - didn’t answer one of Naga’s questions."

And a fifth added: "Naga Totally Grilling the Energy Minister ThisMorning & Let Him Away With Nothing Go Naga."

However, not all of the audience were impressed with the host.

One said: "Oh Naga!! You lost your side arguing about the energy crisis with energy minister.

"It was points scoring and not having a constructive discussion, it was one-up manship from you as you weren’t winning; why so argumentative all the time! It was a good news story."

Another fumed: "I can't stand Naga, she's so patronising. Grinds my gears!"

While a third said: "It was good that he stood up to rude, nasty Naga."
