Laurence Fox is sacked by GB News after disgusting sexist tirade about journalist Ava Evans

LAURENCE Fox has been axed by GB News over his vile on-air rant about a female journalist.

The conspiracy theorist was last week suspended after claiming no "self-respecting man" would "climb into bed" with journalist Ava Evans during a live interview with GB News host Dan Wootton.

It comes after it was this morning revealed Fox had been arrested after he was said to have called for people to tear down ULEZ cameras.

The live discussion about PoliticsJOE reporter Evans was sparked by her views on why the UK shouldn't create a 'minister for men' to tackle a mental health crisis.

In a BBC Politics Live episode, Evans said the issue impacted all people and such a role would  "make an enemy out of women".

This prompted Fox to bite back during his GB News segment which resulted in a vicious, personal takedown of Evans.

He said: "We're past the watershed so I can say this… show me a single, self-respecting man that would like to climb into bed with that woman… ever… ever.

"That little woman has been fed, spoon-fed oppression day after day after day...

"We need powerful, strong, amazing women who make great points for themselves, we don't need these sort of feminist 4.0…

"They're pathetic and embarrassing. Who'd want to s**g that?"

Evans later said the segment made her feel “physically sick”.

She said on a JOE podcast: "I just think it speaks to a wider power dynamic that is sort of falling away now but definitely used to be there in the last few years."

Wootton was also later suspended along with a third presenter Reverend Calvin Robinson.

On Friday morning, GB News boss Angelos Frangopoulos apologised to Ms Evans for the comments, stating they "should not have gone to air".

Ofcom said it would launch an investigation after an onslaught of complaints.

Fox has hit out at GB News since his suspension, calling a disciplinary hearing a “show trial”.

He added: “If GB News were serious when they said they were the ‘home of free speech’ the board would sack senior management.”

Last month Ofcom ruled GB News had breached impartiality rules when Tory MPs Esther McVey and husband Philip Davies interviewed Chancellor Jeremy Hunt days before the spring budget.
