EastEnders fans convinced legendary star is returning to soap after spotting three ‘giveaway’ clues

EASTENDERS fans are convinced a star who left Walford three years ago is going to return to the soap after spotting three clues hinting at his character's reappearance.
Jake Wood, who played infamous love rat Max Branning, left EastEnders in 2021.
Max had been through a series of failed affairs and after one final romance with married woman Linda Carter did not work out, he realised there was nothing left for him in Albert Square.
But eagle-eyed viewers have spotted some signs that he may be coming back to the borough soon.
Jacqueline Jossa, who played Max's daughter Lauren Branning, made the explosive announcement that she will be returning to the soap on Saturday.
This has made fans speculate that Max might make a shock reappearance too, especially since Lauren had previously revealed her dad lived with her temporarily in off-screen scenes after leaving Albert Square.

Lauren's new storyline is going to see her involved in some drama with back-from-the-dead Cindy Beale, which could also end up pulling Max back into the mix.
Max and Cindy share the same granddaughter, and if the matriarch decides she wants custody of Abi Branning Jr, fans could see her hunt Max down for it.
The girl is currently living with her grandpa in Croatia, but with other family members making a reappearance in EastEnders it's a possibility that she could be brought back alongside Max.
The womanizer also never realised Linda was pregnant with his baby when he left Walford.

The dramatic reveal that little Annie is his daughter could also see Max returning to reconnect with his old flame or at least get involved in the life of his child.
One fan speculated: "So happy that Lauren is coming back to EastEnders but my biggest story hope is that she and Linda have some great scenes together and she finally finds out that Annie is her sister and tells Max."
Another agreed: "We need a Branning revival! I NEED MAX!"
