Oti is lining up alongside big names including Davina McCall, Ranvir Singh, Roman Kemp, Charlene White and Olivia Attwood to back the project, which aims to help kids’ mental health by asking them to complete a homework task of opening up with their family.

Oti said: “I wanted to join this campaign because I work with a lot of children and it’s really important that children get to be able to talk about what they're thinking and what they're feeling.

"Expression is one of the most important things.

“For the children taking part in the homework task I am proud of you.

“It’s not always easy to get your feelings out, so I’m really, really proud of you".

Ant and Dec launched the campaign last month after ITV research learnt that mental health has declined in almost 40 per cent of school children.

Celebrities have joined forces with the broadcaster to encourage every school in the country to set a different type of homework ahead of this year’s World Mental Health Day on October 10.

The duo filmed a special video to be played in school assemblies, encouraging kids to simply open up about how they are feeling at home.

Ant said: “With this homework you don’t need a calculator and no one’s even marking it, all it involves is talking. And the best thing, adults have to do it too.”

The task, developed in partnership with a children’s clinical psychologist, will act as a prompt to encourage children to talk about what is on their mind, and to help ease any stress or anxiety they might be feeling.

The stars have put together and to adults to push the message.
