BBC confirms return of popular period drama with Bridgerton star in leading role

THE BBC has announced the return of a popular period drama with a Bridgerton star in the leading role.
Currently, the second series is being produced and the first series can be viewed on BBC iPlayer.
The BBC has announced that Canal+'s Marie Antoinette will return to screens.
The historical drama first made its UK debut on BBC Two on December 29 2022.
Actors, Emilia Schüle and Louis Cunningham will reprise their roles in the upcoming series.
Louis is known for playing Lord Corning, the baron Edwina danced with at Lady Danbury's gala in Bridgerton season two, episode one.

Created by Deborah Davis, the new series continues the extraordinary story of the incredibly modern and avant-garde young queen.
Season two will show how the couple, at the height of their power, faced an unprecedented financial crisis.
The synopsis reads: "The incessant attacks of Provence and Chartres against the royal couple stir up the hatred of the nobles. While the iconic Affair of the Diamond Necklace incident had devastating consequences."
