The Masked Singer fans convinced huge British singer is behind Maypole after she’s axed from rival TV show

THE Masked Singer fans are convinced they've sussed the identity of Maypole.
They believe a British pop queen is behind the wooden-faced character on the ITV series, which delighted with a rendition of a Pink track in the latest episode.
The Masked Singer viewers have matched Ciao Adios hitmaker Anne Marie, 32, with the smiley character.
Maypole features a plume of flowers for hair and rosy red cheeks, as well as a multicoloured dress - yet it's the voice that fans think has given the game away.
One took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to muse: "I think that Anne-Marie is Maypole, I’m sure!"
A second put: "It is either Rita Ora or Anne Marie."
Anne Marie was one of the victims in The Voice's shock series of culls this November.
She was axed along with Olly Murs and the pair won’t feature in further series.
Meanwhile, other ITV viewers are convinced Maypole is in fact former Pussycat Dolls star Melody Thornton, 39.
If the rumours are true, it would mark the second time she's competed on the show, having won Australia's version in 2022.
Eagle-eyed fans matched the American girlband star to one of the clues including one that she is a doll and another that she was born in 'the year of Orwell', relating to 1984.
Other clues include describing themselves as a "model Maypole" as well as having "more than one ribbon to my bow."
After belting out their rendition of Pink's Never Gonna Not Dance Again they added: "‘The audience are watching so I’ll give it the sell.
"It’s something I’ve learnt since the year of Orwell."
Meanwhile, over the weekend, Dionne Warwick was revealed as Weather.
The Walk On By star, 85, competing as Weather, was the first to get the boot in the series opener.
