The Traitors viewers convinced producers ‘stepped in’ to stop standout contestant from being banished

THE Traitors viewers are convinced BBC bosses "stepped in" to stop a fan-favourite from being banished.
Retired teacher Diane, 63, has caused a stir ever since the first episode - prompting a flurry of internet memes of the eagle-eyed star as the programme plays out.
The Lancashire-based lass, who is originally from Northern Ireland, proved savvy as she grilled Harry, 22 - who had in fact been chosen as a traitor.
Yet Diane's direct line of questioning left some of of her Traitors co-stars suspecting she is not as faithful as she appears.
The Traitors host Claudia Winkleman initially selected three individuals using her trademark secret shoulder squeeze - business manager Paul, British Army engineer Harry and events coordinator, Ash, to be the traitors.
With Diane at the centre of the drama, many contestants rejoiced last night as she was saved - with Sonja first to be banished.

The explosive banishment saw the volunteer business mentor, 66, who was in fact faithful, given the boot.
Yet others think the result had been skewed to keep Diane in.
One fan took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to muse: "I've never seen #TheTraitors before - serious question, they're not voting for Diane because the producers have told them not to, right?"
Another added: "To clarify, this is the reason the Traitors aren't killing her, right?"

The speculation is purely based on fan theory.
Earlier in the episode, the Traitors chose their first victim.
As the cast flocked in for breakfast the next morning, they eventually realised Aubrey was missing.
Meanwhile, it was recently revealed how Diane has a very famous son.
Her well-known offspring stunned fans as he spoke out about seeing his mum on the hugely popular series.
Sharing Diane's official promo shot, Kerr Logan wrote: "My mother is on the traitors. My mother is on the traitors. My mother is on the traitors. She’s bonkers. I’m scared."
Kerr starred in series one of Game Of Thrones and played Matthos Seaworth, the son of Davos Seaworth played by Liam Cunningham.
