Helen, who plays Trixie Franklin in Call the Midwife, stunned red carpet on-lookers in a completely see-through black floral lace gown, which complimented her gorgeous figure.

As she greeted onlookers at The King And I's spectacular event, the mother of two maintained her modesty by wearing some high-waisted hotpants and a matching black bra underneath.

However, later on in the night, the Call the Midwife actress was unrecognisable after she transformed her hair colour from chestnut brown to blonde.

She also changed her saucy number to a billowing red gown as she embodied her character, Anna, in the West End production.

As the guests embarked on a photographic frenzy, the nurse Trixie actress posed alongside co-star Darren Lee (who plays The King of Siam) with a drink in hand.

In the West End show, which kicked off this month, Helen has been portraying Anna Leonowens, a British schoolteacher who has been tasked by The King of Siam with helping modernise his nation.

As the King And I's production returned to London following an earlier stint at the capital's legendary Palladium, the BBC star had previously admitted she was "delighted" to continue playing the "formidable" character.

Last year, the Call the Midwife star was at the centre of exit rumours after it was claimed that her on-screen husband, Matthew Aylward, who played Olly Rix, was due to be leaving the show.

Reports at the time claimed that Helen's new on-screen husband, Olly, would be written out of the drama in the upcoming season 13, along with Helen herself.

But according tothe actress is not exiting the show at the end of season 13, and Olly is currently appearing in series 13.

The King and I will be running at London's Dominion Theatre until March 2.

Call the Midwife airs Sundays at 8pm on BBC One.
