DANCING On Ice star Greg Rutherford has revealed he is up and about after being in hospital.

The Olympian, 37, was forced to withdraw from the skating competition after suffering a "significant injury" during rehearsals - just hours before the final on Sunday.

Since then Greg has been bed bound, but this morning he shared a picture of himself having breakfast with his Dancing On Ice skating pro partner Vanessa James.

Posting a snap of her sitting opposite him in what looks like a cafe, Greg wrote: “Look who I found.”

Last night Greg’s fiancee Susie Verrill tried to reassure fans that Greg was on the mend.

She wrote: "Thanks for all your lovely messages for Greg.

"Sorry for being rubbish at replying - my inbox was a mess already because of the past few months have been manic so I need to work through them all properly.

"Greg's doing a lot better and recovering well."

But Greg didn’t quite agree and replied: "No I'm not."

Susie had previously worried fans by posting a photo of Greg lying in a hospital bed.

She wrote: "Not quite how @gregjrutherford anticipated spending today.

"Thank you for all your kind messages."

Susie added alongside a video: "Resus is never a fun place to be is it. There's a lot of screaming :( (Not from Greg)."

Greg shared an update with fans yesterday after leaving hospital.

Next to a shirtless selfie lying in bed, Greg wrote: "Recovery sort of starts now... after a pretty rough first night, I'm looking forward to getting everything sorted and sewn up so I can get back to normal.

"Thank you all so much for your kind messages," he added with a love heart emoji.

On Sunday, Greg announced that he was "devastated" to have to pull out of the finale.

In a video posted to Instagram, in which he appeared to be receiving treatment from a paramedic, he said: "I know this looks very dramatic, and everything else.

"Sadly, I picked up a big injury in rehearsals. I'm on my way to the hospital so I will not be performing on Dancing On Ice tonight.

"I am devastated but these things happen. So stay tuned, we'll keep you updated. What a nightmare way for this to finish."

He had been a favourite to win the 2024 series, which had already been predicted to be the "the closest ever" final out of all 16.

Former Coronation Street star Ryan Thomas instead scooped the crown during the live final on Sunday.
