Luis Morrison breaks silence on Demi Jones as he reveals real reason Love Island romance didn’t work

LOVE Island star Luis Morrison has broken his silence on his split from Demi Jones.
The Sun told yesterday how Luis, 29, and Demi, 25, had called it quits after hitting it off in the All Stars villa.

Now Luis has revealed why the romance didn’t work, admitting that the distance between them was just too big – he lives in Manchester, while she is based 240 miles away in Portsmouth.
He told The Sun: “Me and Demi aren't together, but she was a huge part of my Love Island experience and she is one of the most loveliest, most beautiful girls I've ever met.
“The connection was definitely there when leaving the villa too.
"But the distance was a killer for us both and wouldn't of worked as we are both at different parts of the country, we both have really busy schedules coming off love island too.”

Demi previously hinted that it was hard to maintain the romance because of logistics, saying: "Since coming out [of the show], it’s difficult.
"I live in Portsmouth, he lives in Manchester, and all your work commitments are super, super crazy."
The pair hit it off in the villa but their time was caught short in a shock twist before they could officially couple up.
After their exit, Demi said: "We were actually the only ones who really liked each other, so I think it was such a shock for all the islanders, as well as ourselves, that we were dumped.”

Luis added: “I’m gutted to be leaving the villa but I’m so happy to be leaving with Demi.
“Even though we weren’t coupled up, I wish we could’ve stayed longer as I thought we were a solid couple.

“I loved the time we shared together and overall I’ve had the best experience, it was even better than my time on series one.”
The thyroid cancer campaigner and the businessman delighted fans when they confirmed they were still together when they returned to South Africa for the show’s final.
When quizzed by Maya Jama during the live show, Demi said: "It's still blossoming. We've had a couple of dates, we spent a few weekends together, so it's been nice. We've been in each others pockets."
