The trial involved him being put in a Egyptian coffin which was slowly filled with sand.

Dean was heard screaming "this is hell" as a series of bugs were poured in at the top, scuttling around his head, starting with meal worms.

Yet it was the wet sand being poured in the bottom of the tomb which got in his head - setting off his fear of confined spaces.

After answering two questions correctly, Dean then shouted out the exit pass word "I'm A Celebrity ... get me out of here" to see him released from the Sinister Sarcophagus.

After he emerged from the tomb he burst into tears and told hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly "I can't move my legs

The latest season of I'm A Celebrity kicked off strong with the first gruesome trial taking place as soon as campmates set foot in camp.

Two celebs had to take on the first trial, the Mausoleum of Misery, which involved being locked in chambers and looking at tiles on the floor which contained hints for codes to unlock five padlocks.

It was decided by team leaders Tulisa and Alan Halsall that Danny Jones and  would take on the trial.

The pair managed to secure four stars, but Barry was left disappointed with his performance.

  • What are the Bushtucker Trials?

The gruesome challenges are given to the celebs in order to win food for the camp.

Over I'm A Celebrity's two decades on screens, the Bushtucker Trials have produced heart-stopping and disgusting moments.

From eating bugs, to being buried alive, every year the tasks have been made harder and harder.

The more stars that are won during a Bushtucker Trial, the more food the hungry campers will get.

The gruesome trials are voted for by the public and usually involve just one camp-mate, but sometimes they go in pairs.

  • ITV teases the final episode in a short sneak peak

In a sneak peak to tonight's episode, the final three can be seen taking on a Bushtucker trial to win a dinner banquet for their last meal at the camp.

In a short clip, Ant and Dec asked the contestants how they were feeling before the challenge began.

Danny was heard nervously laughing before saying: "This is sketchy, mate!"

The trio can be seen strapped in a box one under the other as snakes start crawling around them whilst they try to collect stars in ten minutes.

  • Coleen Rooney was dubbed a 'warrior' by the show hosts

In the epic challenge, Richard was the first to try and get to his star, followed by Oti and then it was Coleen's turn.

The WAG ran all the way to her spot, but unfortunately lost a star and had to go back.

She managed to retrieve it and then it was Danny's turn to take over.

The four managed to successfully obtain all four stars.

Ant was very impressed with Coleen and dubbed her a "warrior".

Coleen confessed: “It reminded me of a sunny day in the Rooney back garden! Slip and slide.”

Ant and Dec announced in Saturday's episode that Oti Mabuse had been voted out after 22 days in the jungle.

"LIke, calm down, it's not about you, feed the kids!"

She continued: "You come out a stronger and different person.

    "We cried a lot. I didn't know I was a crier."

  • I'm A Celebrity winners list - 2022 – Jill Scott

Jill Scott’s win in 2022 was her second big victory that year, as she had also won the UEFA Women’s Euro trophy for England that summer.

She won the public over with her humour and demonstrated her bravery in the Bushtucker Trials.

Jill will be remembered for overcoming her fear of heights to win stars for her camp.

  • Who won I'm a Celebrity 2023?

Sam Thompson was crowned the winner of I'm a Celebrity 2023 during the series' final episode.

The reality TV star, who had been a favourite to win, was overcome with emotion as he chatted to hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly in his interview.

He said: "Oh my God. I'm really overwhelmed.

"I didn't think I was even going to be invited on the show. I don't know what to say.

"Oh my God. I'm so grateful, thank you so much. I've dreamt of doing this show for years and years.

"You've made a boy’s dream come true. Thank you."

Thompson was greeted by his close friend and podcast co-host, TOWIE star Pete Wicks, as he left the jungle.

The Irish fighter, 63, choked up as he spoke about her on Thursday after being evicted in the public vote.

He told The Sun: “It was the saddest thing that’s ever happened to me and my wife. We’ll never recover from that.

“I can’t explain to you how sad it’s been for us for the last five years.

“She was with me in there. She watched the show regularly.

“I probably wouldn’t have got as far as I did without her being with me and I know she travels everywhere with me.

“I believe that 100 per cent. And we’ll see each other again sometime.”

He added: “I think about Nika all the time. She would have loved to have seen me on this show. She would have been so proud of me, I know that.

“I know she was responsible for me getting into this. I just know she was.”

  • Viewers smell a rat

I'M A Celebrity viewers have accused show bosses of 'favouring' two campmates in a bid to 'fix' the competition.

Fans of the ITV show were left claiming the stars were given 'extra air time' during the family reunion special.

Both Danny Jones and Coleen Rooney were paid a visit by their sons in the jungle and cried as they hugged them for the first time in more than three weeks.

McFly star Danny was first up with a surprise appearance from his six-year-old son Cooper and his wife Georgia.

Coleen was later left gobsmacked after finding her mum Colette sat in the Leaders' Lodge thrones.

Moments later, her youngest sons Kit, eight, and six-year-old Cass came strolling out from between the trees.

In comparison, Coronation Street star Alan Halsall sat on a rock in a clearing for a chat with his brother, while GK Barry briefly spoke to her mum by the rock pool.

Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, one fan complained: "Why does Danny get 2 visitors and twice as long as anyone else…or twice the airtime? Come on @ITV youre over egging the Danny to win fix #ImACeleb."

Another added: "I know it's petty but I don't like that Danny & Coleen got more than one family member go in... Feels biased. I bet they make the top 2."

  • Who is Danny Jones?

Danny Jones is a musician from Bolton, Greater Manchester.
