IT’S not the Line Of Duty return we’ve been waiting for, but we will soon be seeing a wee bit more of Martin Compston.

The Scottish actor is making another one of his travelogues about his home — only this time it’s the other nation where he spends half his life.

The first series saw him join pal Phil MacHugh on Scottish Fling, then they did the same with their Norwegian Fling, and now they’re heading to the US to explore Las Vegas in Nevada.

That’s where Martin lives for much of the year with his US actress wife Tianna Chanel Flynn where they have a luxury pad with a swimming pool and Tennent’s beer on tap.

Last week the actor dropped a not-so-subtle hint about his plans on Instagram when he posted a picture of himself in front of the famous Bellagio Hotel in Las Vegas.

Martin wrote underneath: “Travel show with a twist @terntv are coming to me. Anybody up for being flung around Vegas?”

Meanwhile his pal Phil responded underneath that post with his own, featuring three emojis — a plane, an arrow with the word “soon” next to it and the American flag.

Which suggests they’ll be heading to the US to start filming imminently.

The Tern TV Martin referred to in his Insta post is probably the production company that gave us their Norwegian Fling show that looked at the similarities between Scotland and it Scandinavian neighbour.

There is likely to be few similarities between Martin’s home town of Greenock and Las Vegas where he enjoys family life with his wife and their young son.

Though he does have the glitzy American city in common with another famous Scotsman — a certain Gordon Ramsey.

The telly chef and the actor, who were born 15 miles apart in Renfrewshire, are good pals through both working on Soccer Aid for charity Unicef.

And they have recently been hanging out together in Gordon’s Flamingo Las Vegas restaurant in Sin City.

So I think it’s a safe bet both will feature in Martin’s latest telly adventure.

LYCETT IS JUST KIDDING

CHANNEL 4 is giving Joe Lycett a break from his hit talkshow so he can spend time with his newborn son.

The comic, who launched series Late Night Lycett in 2023, revealed in October that he and mystery girlfriend “Denise” had welcomed a boy.

Despite high hopes for a third series, bosses had no problem putting the show on the shelf until Joe’s return.

An insider told me: “Joe’s witty one-liners as well as the show’s comedy and feel-good vibe mean it’s not shy of attracting big names like Elizabeth Hurley and Alesha Dixon.

“While Channel 4 are keen for another series, Joe has taken extended time off to be with his baby son and family so meetings on the future of Late Night Lycett have not been able to take place.

“Bosses are respecting his decision and when he does return to work, talks will take place about whether to commission a new series.”

SAM: WHY I PULLED A KNIFE

SAM THOMPSON has confirmed that he reached out for a knife when Michael McIntyre burst into his bedroom in a prank for the comic’s Big Show last month.

The Sun exclusively revealed that the TV personality, who appeared with ex-girlfriend Zara McDermott, was worried a burglar had entered the house before Michael came through the door in the Midnight Gameshow segment of his BBC One series.

Now, Sam has explained that the knife was in the bedroom because he and Zara, who split in December, had used it to open Christmas presents days before.

Sam told his co-star Pete Wicks on their Staying Relevant podcast: “I can’t even describe the feeling of being so shocked, and half asleep, it was terrifying.”

NOEL’S A SPENT FORCE

NOEL FIELDING has had a rough time recently, what with his mystery health issues and his Apple TV+ comedy about Dick Turpin being axed.

Now the accounts for the comedian’s company Fantasy Man Ltd, that handles much of his earnings, have been released.

The figures show that the firm’s reserves have depleted from £1.2million in 2022 to just £182.

Last year, it paid just £28,000 in corporation tax, which is a reflection of how much money came into the company.

It’s also a substantial fall on the previous year’s corporation tax which was almost ten times as high.
