ALISON HAMMOND has just be seen on BBC Two fronting her new holiday show, Florida Unpacked, where she hits the road with son, Aidan.

Now the duo are coming back together in the comfort of their family's front room to take part in the next celebrity special of Gogglebox.

As ever, it would all be for a good cause: raising money for Channel 4's Stand Up To Cancer appeal, and Alison and her lad are likely to be one of several new pairings taking part.

A TV insider said: "Producers were impressed by the dynamic between Aidan and his mum on their new travel show, so wanted a piece of it for Celebrity Gogglebox.

"They're always looking for new duos to appear on the programme to keep it constantly feeling fresh, and, of course, fronting the Great British Bake Off means she's already part of the C4 family.

"A date for the series in question has yet to be set and the other names aren't confirmed."

I exclusively revealed last year how Alison - a former holiday rep - and her 19-year-old son were making their four-part Florida adventure for the Beeb.

It saw them tour the sunshine state together, while having to stick to a budget.

Though it wasn't easy given all the chances to splash the cash in the sun-soaked playground.

She's already about to host Alison Hammond’s Big Weekend, where she spends 48 hours with a star to get a deep insight into their world.

Plus she's still fronting This Morning with Dermot O'Leary and For the Love of Dogs, both for ITV1, and is currently filming another series of the Bake Off.

So, really, Celebrity Gogglebox was practically the only TV show she hadn't been on.

THE BIG STORY: NISH DUMPED

HE built a comedy career out of mocking the press, now Nish Kumar has seen his own bid at being a newspaper reporter fall at the first hurdle.

The comedian joined fellow funnyman Josh Widdecombe on Hold the Front Page, which last aired in 2024, which saw them see what it was like to be a hack.

But after a pretty mediocre response to the six-part show, bosses at Sky Max have decided to drop the axe - with no plans for another season.

A TV insider said: "The irony of the scenario is not lost on the creative team behind the show, because as a comedian involved in satire Josh is often making swipes at the media.

"But he got a taste of what its like to have to report on what's going on and realised just what a tough job it can be - particularly when you have to start out in the local press."

Nish, best known for fronting The Mash Report on BBC Two, joined all-round funnyman Josh on a jaunt round the country where they found themselves in multiple newspaper offices.

It included stopping off in Bradford to spend time on the city's Telegraph & Argus where they reported on everything from a church of wrestling to extra hot curries and the local opera scene.

They also visited Josh's home county of Devon where they got down and dirty on the mud to report for The Moorlander newspaper, bringing news to over 100,000 people in the area. They also went on the hunt of an escaped prisoner and attended a local sci-fi convention.

The duo even ended up in sunny Benidorm where they worked on the Euro News bringing stories to expats wanting to keep informed.

But the reviews and the viewing figures were generally poor and their brief foray into journalism has now come to an abrupt end.
Shame.

DANNY Dyer and Ryan Sampson will be clowning around with a familiar face in the second series of Bafta-nominated comedy Mr Bigstuff.

Ex-EastEnder Shaun Williamson, best known as Barry in the BBC soap, puts on grease paint and a yellow wig to play a kids’ entertainer in one episode as Danny and Ryan head to the pub.

In a first look, the duo, who play brothers Lee and Glen, are far from impressed by his performance, leading to a row that leaves Shaun soothing his head with a bag of frozen peas.

In the The Sky comedy, Danny plays criminal Lee, the big brother of Ryan’s nerdy character Glen. The pair, along with Glen’s fiancée Kirsty, played by Harriet Webb, navigate the chaos of life after their father’s death.

The series, up for a Bafta at this weekend’s TV Awards, returns later in the year.

SEAN'S CRIMINAL HISTORY

SEAN Bean is digging deeper into the criminal underworld for a new Sky documentary.

He recently played the leader of a gang in BBC One’s crime drama This City Is Ours.

Original Gangsters will now see the actor guide us through the history of a notorious band of criminals.

The series promises to uncover fresh details about the lives of the super villains, including 1920s Chicago gangster Al Capone, New York racketeer Stephanie St Clair from the early part of the 20th century, and Billy Hill, who operated in London between the 1920s and 1960s and was a mentor to the Kray twins.

“Birmingham Boys” gang leader Billy Kimber, who inspired a Peaky Blinders character, will also feature.

The four, hour-long episodes will air this autumn.

RYLAN CLARK will team up with historian Alice Roberts for a show about witches.

I exclusively revealed in February that Rylan was on a mission to get clued-up for the series set in his home county of Essex.

It has now been confirmed he will front the Sky History project about sorceresses.

The three-parter dives into the 16th and 17th century witch trials across the county and airs later this year.

A source previously told me: “Rylan will investigate the persecution of witches, and the thousands of women who met their deaths thanks to laws against magic.”
