James Argent buys £1.3million Essex home in his bid to ‘prove himself’ to on/ off girlfriend Gemma Collins
JAMES 'Arg' Argent has bought a £1.3million Essex home in his bid to win over on/ off girlfriend Gemma Collins.
The Sun Online can reveal that the 31-year-old star is splashing the cash on a house just around the corner from his best mate Mark Wright.
Earlier this month, the former Towie favourite was pictured moving back into his mum's house following his latest split from The GC.
The pair have since reconciled, and now Arg hopes that buying the extravagant Woodford home will prove to Gemma, 38, that he has turned his life around and will be able to provide for her.
A source explained: "Arg is determined to sort himself out and grow up and he is hoping that buying this home will be the perfect way to prove himself.
"With five bedrooms, it would work as a proper family home and he is even getting it renovated before he moves in.
"He is settling down just around the corner from his best pal Mark and his wife Michelle Keegan, and hopes to emulate their level of marital bliss with Gemma."
The insider continued: "Although Gemma isn't officially moving in with Arg, that is his long-term goal and he hopes that eventually she will be living there with him.
"This is his way of proving that he has grown up and is ready to settle down once and for all."
The Sun Online has contacted Arg's rep for comment.
Last week, optimistic Arg defiantly took to his Instagram page to tell fans that he was planning a "comeback" in the New Year.
Arg shared a photo of himself at his old gym, posing topless with a towel wrapped around his waist and a swim hat, goggles, and white sliders.
Tagging his location as David Lloyd Clubs, he captioned the inspiring snap: "I’m going to have the biggest comeback of 2020!!!
"After a few years of absence I’m now officially a member of @davidlloydchigwellofficial My first swim since attempting the epic challenge of the #EnglishChannel Its good to be back!"

Last month, Arg took part in Channel 4's Sink Or Swim, which saw a group of celebs attempt to swim across the English Channel for Stand Up To Cancer.
His lifestyle overhaul came after it was revealed that Arg has split from Gemma once again after a rocky nine months.
The pair's first split of the year came in February when The Sun Online revealed that Gemma had kicked him out of her Essex home after he fat-shamed her, telling the diva that she has "more rolls than Greggs".
Gemma has since lost an impressive three stone, and the pair got back together in May but it has been tumultuous ever since - although they are currently very much on.
