"So sorry to see you so upset Dianne", a fan messaged her on social media last night.

She replied: "It’s only because I believed in him so much.

"He was a real lovely guy who tried so so hard and I feel like he didn’t deserve this."

Some of her followers were involved in a spat online as they argued about how much Dianne cared about her celebrity partner.

Defending the dancer, one said: "She cares very dearly for everyone she knows and was absolutely devastated because she thought her and dev would go far.

"She feels like she has let him down."

Dianne liked the sweet tweet as she interacted with fans on Twitter.

Sharing a video of her appearance on It Takes Two with Dev, Dianne wrote: "Still can’t believe we have gone!!!! I’ll miss teaching you xx."

Fans have been left furious by the popular pair's shock exit.

Some have even set up a petition to get the BBC to release their voting stats as they labelled the result a "fix".

Many fans complained they couldn't get through to the voting lines to back Dev on Saturday night.

Strictly bosses tweeted at the time: "There's a high volume of calls, so if you don't get through first time keep trying! And remember you can vote online".

Dev and Dianne scored 27 out of 40 for their Cha Cha Cha by the judges, which placed them tenth out of 13.

All four judges voted to save Viscountess Emma Weymouth over Dev in the shock result.

This comes a week after their Street performance landed them in second place with a massive 36 points.
