THE Walking Dead’s Alpha warns "you better run" as she declares war on Carol for crossing the borders.

The two women have history, after Alpha and her fellow Whisperers beheaded 10 Alexandria residents during the last series - including Carol's adopted son Henry.

In the next episode of series 10, Alpha sends her latest recruit - Gamma - to tell the leaders of Alexandria to meet her at the borderline, where the executions took place.

Her request divides the camp, as The Highwaymen want revenge for their loved ones' deaths, while Michonne is keen to get information from Alpha that could secure their safety, especially considering a sea of walkers are making their way towards the safe zone.

"All she wants to do is talk!" Michonne tells the baying crowd, but that doesn't seem to be the case when they finally meet the Whisperers leader at the borderline in the dead of night.

Alpha, played by Samantha Morton, chillingly tells them: "What did I tell you about crossing my borders? You have to be punished."

She adds ominously: "You better run."

Meanwhile the latest episode of the hit AMC series gave viewers new insights into the origins of Alpha and Beta, the leaders of the mask-wearing faction.

It turns out the pair, known for their brutality and ability to blend in with the undead by wearing their skin, met long before establishing The Whisperers.

Rewinding seven years, the look back focused on Alpha navigating the apocalypse with her young daughter Lydia in tow.

Episode two jumped back seven years to when Alpha met Beta

After seeking refuge in an abandoned building, the pair crossed paths with Beta, who wore a balaclava to protect his identity.

While he was initially cautious, the lumbering fella was eventually persuaded to join the mother and daughter duo.

He even let Alpha get a look at his face, and her reaction spoke volumes, at least for those familiar with the comics.

After lifting up his mask, Alpha sported a smirk and nodded her head, before lowering it again.

In Robert Kirkman’s graphic novels, Beta is eventually unmasked as a prominent basketball player with celebrity status.

It looks like the TV series will be following suite and Alpha recognised him, with the uncharacteristic grin representing a rare moment of being star struck.
