The true crime series will examine the murderer's relationship with his long-term girlfriend Elizabeth Kendall and look at his crimes from a female perspective.

According to the synopsis released by Amazon, the show will uncover "the disturbing and profound way in which Bundy's pathological hatred of women collided with the culture wars and feminist movement of the 1970s, culminating in what is perhaps the most infamous true crime saga of our time."

Ted Bundy kidnapped, raped and murdered more than 30 women in the 1970s and escaped jail twice to kill again.

He is arguably America's most notorious serial killer and was executed by electrocution in January 1989.

Elizabeth Kendall was in a relationship with Bundy during the seventies, and he helped raise her daughter Molly, who was a toddler at the time they met.

She wrote a book in 1981, The Phantom Prince: My Life with Ted Bundy, detailing their relationship, but hasn't spoken publicly in the four decades since.

Now, after nearly 40 years of silence, Elizabeth and Molly will reveal "new unsettling details" about Bundy, discuss "the inconceivable pull he had on women" and open up their archive of never-before-seen family photos.

They are joined by many survivors of Bundy’s attacks – some of whom are speaking out for the first time.

They will provide chilling accounts that promise to "forever change the Bundy narrative" and "provoke a discussion around gender politics that hauntingly resonates today".

There has been renewed interest in Bundy after Netflix had success with their docuseries Conversations with a Killer: The Ted Bundy Tapes earlier this year.

They also released a movie, Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile, starring Zac Efron as Bundy.
