STRICTLY Come Dancing's Kevin Clifton has given fans a sneak peek of his dance with Alex Scott as Neil Jones misses his second show after suffering a nasty injury.

Yesterday it was confirmed that Kevin would be stepping in as the footballer's partner yet again.

Last weekend, the recently-eliminated pro was given 45 minutes to learn the routine after Neil got hurt just hours before the live show.

However, on last night's It Takes Two the ginger hunk revealed that Kevin had been practising the American Smooth with Alex since Wednesday evening.

Taking to his Instagram Story after his appearance in tonight's show was announced, Kevin shared a clip of him and Alex rehearsing on the Strictly dancefloor.

The pair can be seen gliding across the ballroom in the short clip, dancing to Ain't No Mountain High Enough.

Neil insisted that he will be ready to dance again next weekend, telling Alex on It Takes Two: "Nail the dance, go through, and I am ready for you on Monday morning."

Meanwhile, fans were left outraged that Kevin was drafted in as his replacement and not Gorka Marquez, who was demoted to backing dancer in this year's series of the show.

Kevin, who won last year's series with Stacey Dooley, was only just eliminated with celebrity partner Anneka Rice when he got a second chance to bust some moves on the show.

Viewers insisted that it wasn't fair to give Kevin more time in the limelight in favour of Gorka, but last night it was revealed that Gorka's caffeine fix is what really cost him the job.

An insider explained that after Neil pulled out of Saturday's show just 45 minutes before they went live they had to grab whoever was available, and it just so happened to be Kevin.

They shared: "It would have been Gorka but he’d gone out for coffee and with 45 minutes to go, it needed to be the fastest option.

"Kevin was there, it was literally a case of grabbing the nearest person, so he got the gig."

The source continued to : "Now it seems unfair to swap partners again, so Kevin will dance with Alex for the second time."

Gorka did not hide his disappointment when he was dumped from the main dancing line-up ahead of this year's series.

The 28-year-old star admitted in August that it wasn't his choice to be demoted after fans speculated he'd requested to take a backseat after he became a first-time dad earlier this year.

Commenting on his Instagram post announcing the news at the time, one fan responded: "Nooo, why?? You are brilliant?? I hope it's your choice so you can spend more time with baby and mum".

Gorka replied with the shrugging emoji, adding: "Not really, LOL.

"But I will."
