The 79 year-old legend sports a beard, long hair and glasses in the initial promo for the 10-part drama, which is produced by Oscar winning Get Out writer/ director Jordan Peele.

The Irishman star plays Meyer Offerman in the show, which is set in 1977 New York and follows a "rag-tag team of Nazi Hunters on their quest for righteous revenge."

When the Hunters discover that there are undercover Nazis living among them in the US and plotting to create a Fourth Reich on American soil, the gang "set out to thwart their genocidal plans".

The action-packed thirty second tease shows Pacino's character standing in front of a board covered in photographs before drawing a red 'x' through a picture of a uniformed Nazi.

There are also scenes of exploding car and an unidentified woman handcuffed to a chair.

"This is not murder," Al's character says in a voiceover that plays over the clip. "This is Mitzvah."

Mitzvah is a Jewish term meaning a 'good deed done from religious duty'.

Amazon Studios head Jennifer Salke described the series, which was originally called The Hunt, as "edge-of-your-seat entertainment that is not only culturally relevant but deliciously original."

And Jordan Peele told : “It’s cathartic. It’s noir. It’s frighteningly relevant. It’s exactly what I want to see on television. I am thrilled to be working with Amazon in bringing this incredible vision to the world.”
