THE most unnecessary reboot of the year is here.

It’s ready to preach for two hours about how awful men are – all in the name of feminism.

Elizabeth Banks directs this latest instalment of Charlie’s Angels, which sees two angels, Kristen Stewart and Ella Balinska joined by Naomi Scott.

She is the programmer of a new sustainable energy device – the Calisto – which she realises could easily be hacked to kill people.

But the flimsy plot of their quest to stop the bad guys stealing it, and then trying to get it back when they inevitably do, is overridden by the constant need to ram a sermon of sexism down viewers’ throats.

The laughs are minimal, apart from one scene when a baddie is smacked around the head with a computer mouse.

And all of the sex appeal of the 2003 version with Cameron Diaz, Drew Barrymore and Lucy Liu is gone. Tirelessly woke, this film insists all women fight for good, and not a man in the world can be trusted.

The only saving grace is the occasional, but genuinely great, action scenes, including a car chase that will have you on the edge of your seat.

But forget heaven, these angels will take you to purgatory.
