Bake Off’s Prue Leith says she earns so much money from show that someone else tastes her recipes

GREAT British Bake Off star Prue Leith says the show has made her so wealthy that she no longer has to taste her own recipes - she can hire someone to do it for her.
Baking expert Prue, 79, who is thought to earn £200,000 per series, says she uses her wages to fund a personal taster, who is constantly on hand to sample her creations.
And she admits that her role appearing alongside Paul Hollywood, Noel Fielding and Sandi Toksvig on the hit Channel 4 show is by far the easiest cash she’s ever made.
Asked if she has help when working on her cookbooks, Prue said: “I do now because I can afford it, thanks to Bake Off, I now have somebody who tests recipes for me. It's really great because in writing recipe books you have to test things over and over again and it takes ages.”
The TV star, who was speaking on the Come for Supper podcast with Alexandra Dudley, went on: “I don’t say this too loudly so they want to drop my salary, but the fact is, it is the easiest job I’ve ever done. I don’t have to write a script, I don’t have to learn any lines, I don’t have to rehearse anything, I don’t have to make up jokes like Sandy and Noel do."
“All I have to do is walk on, eat cake, say what I think, walk off and get paid. What is wrong with that?”
