But fans need not despair as Starz president and CEO Jeffrey Hirsch revealed at the Television Critics Assn. winter press tour there is more to come thanks to a number of spin offs.

While Jeffrey remained tight lipped on which characters would be involved in the shows, he said ideas were being developed for "prequels and sequels".

He continued: "There's a lot of rich characters that we can choose to pull out."

But he didn't want to divulge anything further as "you'd know who does and doesn't die" in the final season of Power.

However he did reveal the work he had seen so far is "good if not better than what Courtney Kemp put together."

One spin-off that was confirmed last year is a sequel series called Power Book II:Ghost, which will star singer Mary J. Blige and rapper Method Man.

He will play an ambitious and savvy attorney called Davis Maclean attracted to the New York City underworld run by Mary's character.

The new series will be set after the events of the final season of Power, with a launch expected for later this year.

Power first aired in June 2014 and focuses on Ghost, a ruthless and intelligent drug dealer, and his family.

Rapper 50 Cent is an executive producer on the show and also appears as Ghost's friend-turned-rival Kanan Stark.

The show delivered a shock for viewers when lead character James 'Ghost' St. Patrick was shot by a mystery assailant during the final season.

The remaining episodes of series six will focus on each of the suspects who could have wanted Ghost dead.
