Caprice Bourret and Hamish Gaman’s Dancing On Ice fallout explained

DANCING On Ice duo Caprice Bourret and Hamish Gaman are no more after weeks of rising tensions meant they could no longer work together.
Sources close to the pair have claimed that the two struggled to get on from the moment they met and Caprice will now skate with a new partner for the rest of the series.
Viewers were left confused after Dancing On Ice presenters Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield announced on January 19 that Caprice would not be on the show as she had "parted ways" with her partner Hamish Gaman.
An insider spilt the beans on what went down between the two, revealing that although Caprice wanted to skate with Hamish, things went downhill very quickly.
The insider said: “Caprice was mean to Hamish during rehearsals - it was often in front of other cast and crew - and he was left very upset by it because he's such a professional and a gentle giant."
They continued: “Hamish was walking on egg shells a lot of the time - he felt Caprice seemed to struggle with the demands of the show and described her as a bit of a diva because she would tell him off a lot and just generally thought she was above it all."
During their shock announcement, Holly and Phillip revealed that Hamish is still part of the Dancing On Ice team.
"As you saw in our opening number, Hamish remains very much part of our professional team and we hope to have Caprice back on the ice next week," they explained.
Hamish, 36, and Caprice, 48, wowed the judges with an impressive performance to finish second on the leaderboard on January 12, 2020, in what proved to be their first and final dance together.
The insider also stated that he is well-liked by his fellow professional skaters and it is a shame for things to have turned out the way they did.
"It's a shame as Hamish is very popular and all of his other celebrity partners have always loved him because he's so kind and patient."
On January 22, Caprice confirmed she has now been partnered with skating pro Oscar Peter.
When asked by a fan on Twitter if she could reveal who she'd skate with on Sunday, she said: "Oscar Peter he is amazing."
The model was pictured with the Swiss skater, as she began training for her return to the ice.
The three times Swiss champion and former European and world figure skating competitor is now a coach and choreographer.
