The illness causes scarring to the lungs which reduces the sufferer's ability to breathe and there is currently no cure.

Amy bravely opened up about her diagnosis on Loose Women at the time, and said she could only have two or three years to live.

Now, in a candid chat with Closer Magazine, Katie, 41, has told how she fears for her mum's life now more than ever.

She said: "I saw my mum two weeks ago and we spoke on the phone while I stood outside her house.

"I've got to keep away because she would literally die if she got it [coronavirus]."

The pair have not seen each other since due to self isolation and social distancing policies which are not expected to be lifted until next month at the earliest.

Talking about the lockdown, Katie added: "It's been a walk in the park if I'm honest.

"I don't mind my own company.

"Also, it's given me a break from all the drama and the bulls**t that happens in my life!"
