Robert Downey Jr shares first look at gritty Perry Mason reboot starring Matthew Rhys

PERRY Mason is returning to screens, with Robert Downey Jr executive producing the series.
The courtroom drama, which ran from 1957-1966, followed defence attorney Perry Mason.
HBO revealed that they would be creating their own version of the character with Matthew Rhys playing the eclectic Mason.
Marvel's Robert Downey Jr is producing the series and first shared a sneak peek of the character back in November.
He's now revealed a teaser trailer, no doubt to the delight of fans.
He tweeted out to 14.9 million followers: ''I know it's Tuesday because I'm still wearing my Sunday pyjamas. I ALSO know a way to get an exclusive sneak peek at PERRY MASON. All my love, DSB (double-scrub Bob) #PerryMasonHBO''.
The drama has been in the works since 2018, and there have been a few switch-ups with personnel.
Originally the series was supposed to take the form of a movie, before a longer-form format was agreed upon.
This was pushed through when Rolin Jones and Ron Fitzgerald picked up the writing for the script.
Downey Jr. was actually supposed to play Mason at one point, but has now become the executive producer.
The official description for the show, according to Comicbook TV, reads as follows: "1932, Los Angeles. While the rest of the country recovers from the Great Depression, this city is booming!
"Oil! Olympic Games! Talking Pictures! Evangelical Fervor! And a child kidnapping gone very, very wrong!
"Based on characters created by Erle Stanley Gardner, this limited series follows the origins of American Fiction’s most legendary criminal defence lawyer, Perry Mason.
"When the case of the decade breaks down his door, Mason’s relentless pursuit of the truth reveals a fractured city and just maybe, a pathway to redemption for himself."
This marks the second role Downey Jr has taken on since starring in the Iron Man and Avengers series.
He was most recently on the big screen in the lead role of Dolittle. He's also set to return to cinemas in Sherlock Holmes 3.
Elsewhere, he's set to star in a new film directed and written by Jamie Foxx called All-Star Weekend.
