Killing Eve boss hints that the show will continue running without Villanelle or Eve and promises ‘bonkers’ season 4

KILLING Eve's boss has hinted the show will continue without Villanelle or Eve - and promised a "bonkers" season four.
The hit BBC drama returned earlier this month and followed on from the aftermath of the season two finale which saw Villanelle (Jodie Comer) shoot Eve (Sandra Oh) in Rome and leave her for dead.
While Eve survived, show runner Suzanne Heathcote insisted the show could carry on without one or both of its lead actresses in the future as "anything is possible".
She told : "It’s such a rich world and there are many beloved characters.
"That’s both the challenge and the joy and so you know, who knows?
"Who knows where it will go but it will be something completely unexpected."
However, the show's direction will be out of Suzanne's hands in season four as Sex Education producer Laura Neal takes the helm.
Suzanne admitted she is excited to see where Laura takes the show, saying: "She is so brilliant and she has the most amazing ideas, her brain just goes places that no one else could ever imagine.
"I know season four is going to be bonkers brilliant."
Season three has certainly delivered some shocks already with its first two outings, with beloved character Kenny (Sean Delaney) being killed in the first episode.
Fans were left devastated by his death but Suzanne recently explained why it was essential to the season three plot.
Speaking to , she said: "We had to think long and hard about it... Those decisions are never easy.

"But with this story, given everything that had happened to Eve the past two seasons, we really felt we had to honour where she was at.
"And nothing was going to bring her back into investigating the Twelve for a professional reason. It was just too much water under the bridge for her, emotionally.
"So we knew there had to be something really personal happen to bring her back in. And the more beloved the character, the more it means when they go."
Killing Eve is available to stream on BBC iPlayer.
