KILLING Eve's show boss has revealed ‘a lot of deaths were pitched for season three’ and warned fans that ‘no-one is safe’.

The hit BBC drama is currently airing its third season and fans have already been left devastated by one beloved character's death in the first episode.

Kenny (Sean Delaney) plunged to his death under mysterious circumstances, and more recently Eve's husband Niko (Owen McDonnell) appeared to die in a horrific attack at the hands of Dasha (Harriet Walter).

Villanelle has also been flexing her assassin muscles, and showrunner Suzanne Heathcote has revealed the writer's considered a number of names when choosing who could potentially be bumped off this season.

Speaking to , she said: "We pitched a lot of deaths and there was a lot of discussion on that.

"However, we found that when we pitched certain deaths they’d feel too Bondy and too slick.

"So we tried to keep that very specific Killing Eve tone to everything."

Referring to Dasha's attack on Niko, she added it was important to keep viewer's on the "edge of their seats", saying: "The thing that is important with this show, is that it feels dangerous and that no one is safe."

Suzanne previously hinted the show could even continue without its two female leads, Jodie Comer and Sandra Oh.

She told Metro.co.uk: "It’s such a rich world and there are many beloved characters.

"That’s both the challenge and the joy and so you know, who knows?

"Who knows where it will go but it will be something completely unexpected."
