Piers Morgan reveals coronavirus symptoms he suffered ahead of return to Good Morning Britain tomorrow


PIERS Morgan opens up about what coronavirus symptoms he had as he prepares to return to Good Morning Britain.

The former newspaper editor, 55, tested negative for the deadly virus last week but revealed his doctor sent him for a test after he presented several symptoms.

Piers told a Twitter user exactly what his symptoms were after being quizzed about them.

He wrote: "If you really want to know, I developed shortness of breath, a cough & unusual lethargy - three possible signs of COVID-19."

"So my doctor told me to take a coronavirus test, which was thankfully negative."

The dad-of-four revealed he had the symptoms last weekend after suffering mild symptoms.

Piers told fans: "UPDATE: My COVID-19 test was negative.

"I was advised to take the test by my doctor after developing possible coronavirus symptoms, and was entitled to do so as a Govt-designated essential worker.

"I'll be back on @GMB as soon as my doctor advises I'm OK to return to work."

Piers' co-host Susanna Reid shared Piers' health update with viewers as the breakfast show kicked off on Tuesday, saying he had tested negative.

Dr. Hilary Jones added his relief as he said that the star will be "back before we know it".

On Wednesday, Piers confirmed he would be returning to GMB on Monday after fans begged for his return.

Responding to The Sun's story about fans begging for his return, Piers said: "Relax everyone, I’ll be back Monday."

Poorly Piers was tested for coronavirus on Sunday, but found to be negative the next day.

He said he wouldn't be returning to work until a doctor advised he was able to.
