Who killed Axel in White Lines?

CRIME drama White Lines has been a hit with viewers during lockdown.

Viewers get to see Zoe try to get to the bottom of her brother Axel's death, so does she get to find out who was responsible for his death?

The series follows a woman called Zoe as she tries to find out who is responsible for the death of her older brother, Axel, after his body is discovered 20 years after he went missing.

Who killed Axel in White Lines?

The first season ends with a clear answer to who killed Axel, and fans discover that ex-wife of a drug dealer and sex party organiser Anna (Angela Griffin) is responsible for Axel's death.

After being confronted by Zoe in White Lines season finale, Anna confesses that she murdered Axel 20 years ago.

At the end of White Lines, viewers are shown flashback scenes to Axel's birthday party and the night he was killed, revealing what actually happened on the fateful evening.

Anna was sleeping with both best friends, Marcus and Axel on the show.

How did Axel die and what happened?

Axel became concerned that his friends had lost their way and only cared about power and money instead of the music - so he sets fire to all their money.

Anna was furious about this and decides to confront him about what he had done.

After the pair trade words in a heated exchange, Axel takes a line of cocaine to calm his nerves, but instead begins to choke.

Anna saw this as an opportunity to hurt Axel, and pushed him down into the pool to drown him.

Marcus approaches the scene to find Anna screaming for help and Axel floating in the water.

When they realise it appears to be too late to save him, the pair panic and bundle Axel into the boot of their car, in an attempt to dispose of his body.

Marcus pulls over to question Anna about what really happened, when Axel starts banging from inside the boot, and manages to climb out.

At this point, Marcus panics and runs him over, breaking his ribs, this still doesn't finish the job, and Axel continues to crawl away.

Anna starts to worry that she'll go to prison for the crime, so she gets out of the car to deal the fatal blow.

Eventually, Marcus finds out that Anna cheated on him with Axel, and that she manipulated him into helping her cover up the murder.
