James Argent says Towie’s 10-year anniversary special ‘wouldn’t work without him’ – but rules out full-time return

JAMES ‘Arg’ Argent wants to star to in Towie’s 10th anniversary special but has ruled out a full-time return.
The reality star was one of the ITVBe show’s original cast members alongside best pal Mark Wright and his then girlfriend Lauren Goodger.
He hasn’t appeared since May 2018 due to addiction problems, which he revealed in The Sun this week, but says a celebration marking the show’s 10th birthday wouldn’t work without him.
Speaking exclusively to The Sun, Arg, 32, said: “I’m proud to say I was on it from Day One and I feel like it’s my baby but in terms of coming back and being a full time cast member, I think that chapter in my life has closed.
“There is talk of a ten year anniversary reunion and I don’t feel like you can have one unless I’m in it, right?”
Arg says the “golden age” of Towie was it’s early days when Mark, as well as Amy Childs and Joey Essex, featured.
The trio have also been linked with a return for the 10th anniversary special, planned for later this year, plus ex-stars Lucy Mecklenburgh and Arg’s ex-girlfriend Lydia Bright.
Despite quitting Towie for good, Arg says he hasn’t totally turned his back on reality TV as he fancies competing on Dancing On Ice or Strictly.
He added: “There are certain TV shows that I would enjoy and would be good for me.
