Dog the Bounty Hunter’s daughter Cecily mourns tragic sister Barbara Katie on her birthday 14 years after crash death
DOG The Bounty Hunter's daughter Cecily has wished her late half-sister Barbara a happy birthday, telling Barbara "not to have too much fun" as she "celebrates in heaven" with her step-mom Beth Chapman.
June 9 would have been Barbara's 37th birthday, however, near her home in Fairbanks, Alaska, a day before Dog wed Beth.
, who was Beth's daughter and whom adopted, shared on Instagram on Tuesday: "Woke up this morning, the birds were chirping and singing (extra this morning) and I went for a walk with Kona.
"I had one of those moments where you smell something and it reminds you of that person or that their with you and I looked up and seen these beauties."
Alongside a picture of local flowers, Cecily added: "Thought of you my sis today in heaven. I love you BK Happiest Birthday, at least now you get to finally celebrate with mom @mrsdog4real up there.
"Have fun but not to much fun without us lols."
Cecily was Beth's daughter from a previous marriage, but was adopted by her father Dog - real name Duane - when he wed Beth in 2006.
Barbara died after a car crash; Alaska state troopers said at the time that the young mom was with a friend, driver Scott Standefer II - who was also killed - when their SUV rolled off the road and hit trees before landing upside down.
The vehicle was stolen.
Trooper Jeremy Stone told press at the time that the pair had tried using a stolen credit card to rent a room Friday at Chena Hot Springs Resort.
"There is no clue as to why they left the roadway," Stone said. "There are absolutely no skid marks on the road. They just went off the road, hit an embankment and launched."
Troopers suspect drugs or alcohol may have played a role in the crash, spokesman Greg Wilkinson said.
"(Barbara) had gotten herself into a terrible mess," her mom, Lyssa, said of her daughter.
"She was trying as hard as she could to put her life back together," she told the Fairbanks Daily News-Miner.

The day after her death Dog and Beth went ahead with the wedding, and told friends and family of her passing during the reception.

Dog is now engaged to Francie Frane, and in an exclusive interview with The Sun, Barbara Katy's sister Lyssa said her dad and his new love are "really cute" together and the 51-year-old fits in with the family perfectly.
She told The Sun her dad's relationship and widowers that they can find love again.
