BGT’s Kathleen Jenkins wowed with a Rolling Stones song she practised in the loo – and next up she promises a ‘love ballad’ rehearsed in the bathroom
The Newport woman blasted out a fautless cover of Rolling Stones hit Wild Horses on Saturday's audition show and hopes to impress with a love song should she reach the next round
Britain's Got Talent singer Kathleen Jenkins's take on Rolling Stones hit Wild Horses had David Walliams gushing she had a "God given talent" as she wowed the crowds on Saturday.
And it seems there's plenty more where that came from.
The Newport girl - who captured fans' hearts after revealing her dad and husband were her biggest fans - has given Sun Online viewers an exclusive taste of what's to come should she reach the next stages of the ITV talent show.
She told us she chose her audition track - not because Susan Boyle, a previous BGT star, had sung it - rather because it proved popular during her family sing-song.
Kathleen, 26, said: "It was such a nice song and when I was singing it it meant so much to me.
"The words in the song are so emotional and start to connect to so many people.
"Susan Boyle is an idol.
"She's just a normal woman who went tout there and everyone heard how incredible she was - I think her version of that song is beautiful."
The raven-haired singer revealed on the show she practised her songs in the toilets in the builders merchants, where she works as a cleaner.
Kathleen is promising fans a love ballad should she reach the next round of the ITV talent show
One track in particular is Queen track Somebody To Love - which she blasted out for our exclusive video.
After already conquering legends The Rolling Stone's hit the chart-toppers could be next in her sights.
She said: "I think I would probably try something a bit different but not too different - I'd like to try a nice love ballad because that's the type of stuff I've always loved and hopefully people would enjoy.
"I'd have to see how I do first.
I absolutely love Celine Dion, Whitney Houston, I love Meatloaf and I love the Beatles, I love Queen so fingers crossed if everything goes well I'll be able to possibly sing one of those songs."
She watched Saturday's performance back with her boss, family and friends back in Wales and told the Sun Online she was a nervous wreck during her time on-stage.
Kathleen, who lives with her parents and her husband in the same home, said: "I can remember telling myself to stop shaking.
"It's absolutely incredible to hear David Walliams say that.
"It was just so overwhelming.
"Watching it back I got to hear what they said all over again because at the time it was such a big blur.
"The comments which were made, every single one of them made such a nice comment and it meant so much to me. "
She giggled as she confessed she had now become bombarded by well-wishers on social media.
She told us she set up her Twitter profile around two years ago but left it pretty neglected as she wasn't sure quite how to use it.
Now she's taken to social media to apologise for not replying to the hundreds of telly fans who are backing her to become BGT's 10th winner.
She insisted she was again "overwhelmed" especially because all the attention had come overnight.
"I can't believe how many people are already supporting me - The Tweets I've had have all been absolutely gorgeous and it means absolutely so so much.
"Hopefully they will keep supporting and keep watching."
