Tragic music legend Prince ‘held festival talks’ for Glastonbury before his death
Superstar had planned to meet festival boss in talks to arrange a final farewell for fans

GLASTONBURY has bagged three of its best headliners in years with ADELE, COLDPLAY and MUSE all topping the bill.
But one name who was set to grace the Pyramid Stage for the first time is missing.
Late legend PRINCE had been in talks to perform at the festival this summer before his death last month.
It suggests that Prince, who is widely thought to have predicted his own death, still had big music goals and was planning one final farewell.
His reps had even agreed to meet festival boss Michael Eavis in London to finally thrash out a deal.
In a chat, Michael revealed his sadness at Prince’s passing.
He said: “I was going to meet his agent, it was all planned but it didn’t happen.
“His death was so sad. That’s a real star that we never had.”
It is not the first time Glastonbury has lost out on having Prince play there.
In 2014 the Purple One pulled out of headlining because rumours had already started to leak out about his potential appearance.
Eventually US rockers METALLICA took the spot.
At the time Michael said: “We wanted him and it got to the point where his people were talking to us about him doing it. But before he confirmed he got upset as he thought we had advertised that he was playing.
“We hadn’t, but with social media, rumours get everywhere, and one was that Prince was coming. So he didn’t want to do it in the end.”
Michael’s daughter and event co-organiser Emily also told how Prince had been “close” to headlining Glasto for the past three years.
While the singer will now never perform at Worthy Farm, he’ll be there in spirit this year. The organisers are planning tributes including themed late-night parties all across the site.
Expect cover versions from the rest of the line-up, too.
Alice is Oz-tonished
IT’S not just the wrath of wife SHARON that OZZY OSBOURNE faces after his recent alleged affair.
The rocker has been dealt a new blow after being criticised by his good friend and fellow heavy metal legend ALICE COOPER for failing in his marriage.
In an exclusive interview, Alice said: “First of all you marry the person that you’re in love with. If you marry the person you’re in love with the last thing that you will do is try to hurt them.
“I really do feel sorry for a marriage that has been together for so many years that falls apart. I go, ‘Come on guys, try harder’.”
The Sun on Sunday told earlier this month how Sharon had booted Ozzy out of their mansion after accusing him of cheating with celeb hair stylist Michelle Pugh. The couple have been married for 34 years – not far off Alice’s 40-year milestone with wife Sheryl Goddard.
Declaring he would never cheat, Alice said: “There’s never been any infidelity in our marriage at all. We trust each other implicitly.
“I’ve had girls throwing themselves at me but why would I go for a bologna sandwich when I’ve got a filet mignon?”
Alice, who headlines the Stone Free Festival at London’s O2 Arena on June 18 and 19, added: “It seems like Ozzy and Sharon had a very solid marriage. Hopefully they’ll fight through this.”
There’s a long way to go yet.
Jen licks it
JENNIFER LOPEZ loves to throw a big party – and wear an even bigger hat. The singer hosted her first ever Carnival Del Sol bash in Las Vegas, leading the dancing in a bikini from a balcony at Drai’s Beachclub.
It got so hot she even started eating an ice cone to cool down.
That giant hat would have come in handy as a fan instead...
