Demi Moore and Bruce Willis’ daughter Tallulah had suicidal thoughts while battling ‘severe depression’ and ‘trauma’
TALLULAH Willis revealed she had suicidal thoughts while battling "severe depression" and "trauma."
The shared an emotional post about how she questioned whether she "wanted to continue this life."
Tallulah explained that she felt "locked in a cage" or "overwhelming pain" because of her fragile mental health.
The 26-year-old wrote on Instagram: "A lethal combination of untreated severe chemical imbalance/depression, harmful coping mechanisms and certain debilitating traumas had me questioning if I wanted to continue this life.
"To have suicidal ideation to me, is to feel there is an unpredictable and unstoppable threat living within your body.
"In far too often moments, I felt the pain was too overwhelming to keep going. I begged to be saved from my own mind."
She went on: "Locked within my invisible self-made cage, I would peer at the vitality erupting in this world.
"Those who were existing as if they already understood life happens for you, not to you.
"My bottomless vacuum of victimhood tango'd delicately with narratives of worthlessness, growing in power with the tempo, only to be seduced by an even more alluring partner, comparison.
"My feet were tired, as my unfed soul continued to protest wearily behind my bones. I am unfathomably lucky that by some unseen force I did not take action on these thoughts."
Tallulah - who is the youngest of together - then explained how she managed to "ask for help."
She wrote: "During this terrifying time, I had truly resigned to life of sorrowful observation when suddenly the absolute unthinkable happened; I asked for help.
"It is not lost on me the privilege that my call was answered, and as I slowly healed what had been insidiously festering within, I made room for something strange and new to take its place.
"This new resident told me to try, and to my genuine disbelief, I did."
She said she felt like she was viewed by the public as a "celebrity child, who constantly changes her hair and has lots of dogs" and explained how she coped with depression by launching her clothing line, Wyllis.
Tallulah said: "This [the collection] is what I will always - always - remember as the thing that above all, saved me from taking my own life.
"The magnitude of which has me shaking as I type these words. I am proud of myself for still being here."
She explained that it took 14 months to launch the range, which has partnered with the Loveland Foundation, a charity that gives therapy support to black women.
Alongside the lengthy post, Tallulah shared a snap of herself cuddling Evelyn, the daughter Bruce shares with his wife Emma, as well as a photo of one of the pieces from her collection.
She has been open about her struggles in the past, previously revealing she had an eating disorder and that she almost died from alcohol poisoning when she was 15.
Tallulah also revealed that she didn't speak to for three years - although the pair is now on good terms.
