HOLBY City has been forced to take another extended break as the coronavirus lockdown takes its toll and the medical drama runs out of new episodes.
The BBC One show took a break back in April and returned on 2 June in order to ensure fans were still able to get their fix of their favourite soap over the summer.

However, just days after production restarted, Holby City is now set to take another extended break after running out of episodes.
The last episode to be aired on television will be on Tuesday 11th August before it goes off air for a while, according to Inside Soap.
Cast and crew are back filming an upcoming special episode that will see the hospital come up against the challenges of the coronavirus pandemic.
One new change to the series when it returns will be that the episodes will be shorter, at only 40-minutes long.

The coronavirus pandemic is set to be a major theme for the show, with BBC Studios' Head of Continuing Drama Kate Oates promising that it will be a "battle" for Maxine McGerry (Jo Martin) and her staff.
"It's with great pleasure that we open the doors at Elstree, to welcome back the exceptional cast and crew of Holby City," she said as the series resumed shooting.
"We have some compelling stories to tell as we explore how the lives of our characters have been changed since the start of the pandemic – and how our heroes battle against the odds, come what may."

Last month Doctor Who fans went wild after John Barrowman and Jo Martin were reunited on Holby City and gave an epic nod to the show.
John, 53, turned up in his guest role as Dr Drew Nicholson-Heath although he's best known for his role as Captain Jack Harkness in Doctor Who and spin-off series Torchwood.
Meanwhile Jo - who plays neurosurgeon Max McGerry in Holby City - also appeared in Doctor Who as Ruth Clayton, a long-lost reincarnation of the Doctor.

Holby City bosses couldn't resist giving a cheeky nod to the popular sci-fi series when Max and Drew came face to face in the hospital.
After Max questioned whether Drew was trying to poach her staff, Drew gave her an enthusiastic salute and said "Doctor!".
The last episode of Holby City to air for a while will be Tuesday 11 August at 8pm on BBC One.
