PIERS Morgan has threatened to track down the thieves who ransacked Paul Gascoigne's home after inadvertently telling his 7.6m Twitter followers the star was out.
Ex-England star Gazza, who has battled alcoholism, was robbed of £140,000 worth of jewellery from his flat while at the filming of Piers' Life Stories with Vinnie Jones.
On today's Good Morning Britain, Piers revealed police said his tweet could be why thieves knew the 53-year-old wasn't home.
He wants viewers to help him find out who broke into Gazza's home last week.
Piers said: "Strange one that. He was in the audience last Monday. I posted a picture of Gazza in the audience. I didn't think anything of it.
'It appears while he was sitting there and that tweet went out, police fear somebody possibly realised he wasn't at his house and saw the opportunity, which is absolutely appalling for Paul.
"It's very sad for Paul. What kind of person does that? You know what he's been through the last few years.
"If you know what kind of person has done that - I want to know who did that to Paul Gascoigne."
"Nice people right? To go into the house of a person who's gone through what he has. So if we can find them, that would be great."
Tearful Paul has begged thieves to give back his late dad’s treasured watch taken from his home.
Five watches, two bracelets, three rings, diamond earrings, £800 designer sunglasses and a New York Police Department badge were stolen.
He said he was left devastated by the loss of the items which “meant so much” to him.
The legend's dad, John, died aged 72 from cancer two years ago.
Gazza broke down in tears on today's show as he spoke about what losing his dad's watch meant to him.

"I was really close to my dad," said Paul as he became overwhelmed with emotion.
"He gave us it... so for it to get stolen...
"I don't mind the other stuff, but the sentimental stuff meant a hell of a lot of us.
"Whoever has got it doesn't have to own up to it, they could leave it in a bag and leave it somewhere. It's heartbreaking."
