Corrie’s Ryan Thomas reveals he could make a return to the soap…and that he loves his ex-Tina O’Brien’s new fiancé

CORRIE hunk Ryan Thomas has revealed that the door is still being left open for him, should he want to return to the hit soap.

He has also admitted that he has a strong relationship with his ex-Tina O’Brien and her new fiancé Adam Croft.

Ryan Thomas is set to leave the soap after playing builder Jason Grimshaw for 16 years.

In an new interview, the actor talks about saying farewell to his friends and “second family” in Weatherfield,

The 32-year-old also reveals in the latest edition of that the man who is responsible for his buff new body is actually his ex-Tina O’Brien’s new fiancé, Adam Crofts.

He told the magazine: “They’re the perfect family.

“Adam is a great role model for my daughter. I’m very blessed because he is the perfect man for my daughter to be around.

“He’s warm, kind and I would class him as family. He has given everything to Scarlett and I would do the same for Beau (Adam and Tina’s son).”

He adds: “Adam is a good man. I spent Christmas with them one year. He and Tina are perfect. Adam trains me, too.

“Adam and I are even planning to have a little holiday away.’

Speaking about his decision to leave Coronation Street, Ryan tells said: “The main reason is I wanted to have a change and it was about doing something I’ve never done before.

“I feel like now is the right time – I’m in my thirties.”

But he admitted it was the biggest decision he ever made, adding: “I’ve been here since I was 16 – that’s all my life, really. It’s the only job I’ve ever had.”

The star also reveals how he cried twice when he filmed his final scenes: “The first time I picked up the script – that was when it hit me I was leaving.”

He added: “I was fine in rehearsal but when it came to film the scene, I just couldn’t look at Sue or Bruno.”

However, he has revealed that the door is being very much being left open for his character to return.

He said: “At Tony Warren’s wake, one of the writers came up to me and said: ‘I’ve written a scene where Jason isn’t very happy in Thailand – you will come back, won’t you?’ That is really lovely to hear.”

Admitting that he won’t miss the attention he gets outside of the show, he said: “It feels like I’m having an out-of- body experience and I can do what I want.

“It feels like the world is my oyster.”
