Johnny Depp and Amber Heard postpone divorce court showdown as they thrash out settlement
The warring pair have agreed to settle their differences as they try to settle the divorce in private

JOHNNY Depp and wife Amber Heard look to be swerving an ugly court battle in favour of settling their dispute out of court.
Lawyers representing the Pirates of the Caribbean star has requested today’s restraining order hearing is postponed until August 2 in favour of the pair settling their differences privately.
Amber, 30, was set to testify against her estranged husband Johnny, 53, on claims that he physically abused her during their 15-month marriage.
However, it was has been reported that both Amber and Johnny’s legal teams are keeping the pair distant as they settle all matters involving the dissolution of their marriage, such as property and spousal support.
The Los Angeles County Court’s public information officer confirmed yesterday their case will be continued but no new date has been scheduled.
The news comes after Amber Heard hit back at claims she is a gold digger blaming a ‘false and negative’ media campaign for diverting the public’s attention from her plight and insisting she is a ‘victim’ of domestic violence.
Amber, who has been married to Johnny since February 2015, had been scheduled to appear in court today to seek a permanent restraining order.
In court papers filed earlier this week testified she could have asked the court to grant her almost $1m a month to sustain her lifestyle due to her husband’s sizeable pay packet.

Lawyers acting for the couple who were scheduled to appear in the Superior Court in the State of California this afternoon have now agreed to negotiate, according to reports.
The 30-year-old actress had insisted her 53-year-old husband earned £21 million last year and was violent towards her.
She had said could have asked the court to grant her £669,239 per month – the maximum allowed by law – and instead only asked for five per cent of his annual income to live on.
Her sworn testimony stated: “In light of the coordinated false and negative media campaign falsely depicting my attempts to attain a CLETS Domestic Violence Restraining Order as being financially motivated, I am hereby withdrawing my request.”
In May, Johnny's lawyers refuted Amber's claims of domestic abuse and his spokesman issued the following statement.
It read: “Given the brevity of this marriage and the most recent and tragic loss of his mother, Johnny will not respond to any of the salacious false stories, gossip, misinformation and lies about his personal life.
“Hopefully the dissolution of this short marriage will be resolved quickly.”
